The Bodil Eskesen Center, designed by AART Architects, is a modern neurorehabilitation facility in Denmark that offers a safe and calming environment for patients undergoing complex rehabilitation treatments. The project emphasizes sustainability and fire safety, essential in creating a therapeutic atmosphere for vulnerable patients.
To achieve this, the architects chose wood treated with Burnblock’s natural, non-toxic fire retardant, meeting Denmark’s stringent safety requirements while maintaining an organic aesthetic. This fire-retardant solution allows the natural beauty of the wood to shine through, complementing the center’s design concept of warmth and tranquility. Nordisk Profil oversaw key construction phases, coordinating with the architects to integrate fire-treated wood effectively throughout the building.
This project stands as an example of how sustainable materials can contribute to both environmental goals and healthcare innovation, balancing safety with design integrity.
