A new trial with BURNBLOCK, established in collaboration with Falck and the Municipality of Hjørring, in the northernmost region of Denmark, aims to help stop wildfires.

The Northern Jutland countryside has been chosen as testing grounds for Falck and the Municipality of Hjørring’s project to test the possibilities of effectively containing and suppressing wildfires with the help of BURNBLOCK.

BURNBLOCK is a 100 per cent organic fire retardant developed in Denmark which can be used for fireproofing building materials as well as fighting fires.

The great advantage of using BURNBLOCK in nature is that, unlike many other fire retardants, it is completely non-toxic – and yet extremely effective.

BURNBLOCK is mixed with water and effectively blocks the supply of oxygen to the burning or fire-threatened material. In this way the product can stop the burning process as well as prevent fires in grass, brush and trees in areas where the fire chief wants to use BURNBLOCK to establish a fire belt to halt the progress of a wildfire.

Falck in Hjørring has established a tank system with 10,000 litres of BURNBLOCK, which is ready to be deployed in case of large wildfires in the course of the summer. The system is also being made available to other municipalities in the region.
